The tiger cubs program is designed to build physical and mental strength. Children will develop a connection between mind and body through repetition drills and games. Through this curriculum, children will gain self-control and focus as well a healthy lifestyle. This program is ideal for kids with no prior experience, or with children with prior knowledge.
The Benefits of Martial Arts for Kids:
  1. Goal Building. They will learn how to set goals and develop at their own pace. Our belt system is designed to give students something to grow into, the ranking system is progressively more challenging. Students earn a different colored belt every time they reach a new skill level. This can boost self-esteem and keep them motivated.
  2.  Material is broken down into segments. A technique or form in martial arts can have dozens of different movements. Kids learn gradually, repeating and adding steps as they go. By breaking down the material you give the students time to develop their fundamentals, focus and coordination. With time, they put everything together into fluid movements.
  3. Develop self-control and concentration. Concentration and self control is central to martial arts. Kids will develop the concentration to stay focused and on task.
  4. Help with coordination. Doing martial arts can help kids understand how to coordinate and move fluently. This is beneficial for kids who struggle with motor skills. It also helps kids understand the power of the mind over the body connection.
  5. Provide structure. Our martial arts instructors have clear rules and constantly reinforce them. They also emphasize good behavior in and out of class.
  6. Safe way for kids to get out extra energy. It’s a myth that martial arts encourage violent behavior. In fact, our instructors teach that fighting is a last resort. At the same time, martial arts supports kids by releasing frustration or anger while working out and practicing self-control.
  7. Learn Respect. Respect is a core value in martial arts. Students will learn how to show it for their instructor and their peers. Negativity is not tolerated in class, and students are encouraged to support each other.

Hapkido is a versatile Korean martial art focused on practical self-defense. It teaches students how to defend against grabs, punches, kicks, and even weapons using joint locks, throws, and strikes.
Unlike aggressive or force-against-force styles, Hapkido emphasizes using an opponent’s energy against them through circular movements, redirection, and precise control. It’s often described as a “soft” martial art because of its focus on sensitivity, awareness, and technique over brute strength.
Students also train with traditional weapons and learn both long- and close-range combat skills. Beyond physical training, Hapkido encourages personal growth, mental clarity, and self-discipline—developing both the body and the spirit.
